...so any thoughts on how we might get the various government agencies (e.g. King County, Renton, Bellevue, ...) and party folks to stop using Twitter ?

(my 1st vague attempt at getting City of Mercer Island to at least consider getting a mastodon account was a fail -- city council folks don't seem to think this is up to them...)

@wrog I don't know. IMO news organizations, governments and electeds are a huge barrier to acceptance here. We probably need to recruit more tech savvy electeds to start and then bring their colleagues over. Wouldn't hurt to also get campaigns using ActivityPub as they won't abandon the channel once in office.
