Hunter Biden to enter guilty plea on two minor tax evasion charges; will also admit to facts of gun charge.

Plea deal, if approved by a judge, would result in probation on the tax charges and pretrial diversion on the gun charge. If he completes the diversion, the gun charge will be dropped.

An important reminder: as with many, many, many accused persons, the charges against Hunter Biden stem not from malice, but from bad choices he made while dealing with substance abuse issues.

The people dealing with these issues are our family, our friends, our neighbours. If you don't think there's anyone important to you who is dealing with similar issues and making similar mistakes as a result, you're probably wrong.

I'm someone who has not held back on criticisms of Joe Biden. But however you feel about his political stances, one of the most graceful examples he has ever set was to refuse to distance himself from his troubled son, to acknowledge his son's problems but insist that he loves him. Through all of it.
