Having been unable to find a portable or mobile #RacingGame that could scratch the classic #GranTurismo itch (the one #GranTurismo7 also doesn’t address), I’ve now done basically all the work to get #PS2 Emulation working on one of my phones plus make backups on my PC and in the next couple of days I’m picking up a copy of #GranTurismo4

Picking up my copy of #GranTurismo4 tomorrow. It was £4...And they also had #GranTurismo3.

For £1.50.

So...I ordered both.

Obviously.

Progress update: I’ve completed an Arcade Mode race (Trial Mountain) in #GranTurismo3 on my #Android phone (Sony Xperia 10 IV connected to an #XboxOne Controller via Bluetooth and clipped to same) to verify everything seems to be working. An SD Card limitation is slowing down getting #GranTurismo4 onto the phone, but I should be able to get that going later this afternoon #GranTurismo #PS2 #Emulation
And here it is, #GranTurismo4 running on my #SonyXperia10IV in #AetherSX2. This is stock settings, just 16:9 selected both in game and in the Emulator. A little slowdown where there was some heavy foliage, but overall a great success for straight out the box #GranTurismo #PS2 #Emulation #Android
Couple of things to note: I had to halve the frame rate and compress quite heavily to get the video file small enough to upload to Mastodon. It was actually running at approximately 50Hz (as expected for a PAL version) and it looks slightly cleaner than this. Also the Xperia 10 has a 21:9 6” display so it’s quite small vertically when in landscape, as such the low native resolution still looks pretty good in person
