My friends, those reply guys were 100% right. This blows Docker, Colima & what have you completely out of the water. It’s a drop-in replacement for the docker backend & JUST WORKS. It feels faster, but most importantly the update works.

It also has incredibly cool lightweight Linux Machines that I can best describe as WSL—all with full Rosetta support.

It looks like they’re gonna charge money eventually https://docs.orbstack.dev/faq#free but we’ve paid for VMware before and worst case I’ll go back into sad Docker Desktop land.

@hynek I don't have a problem paying Docker either, but that said, paying them doesn't make the app any better or more reliable.

As long as it's reasonable, I would be more likely to use + pay for an app that makes my container experience better.
