Google Tells Employees to Stay Away from Its Own Bard Chatbot

Alphabet Inc. advised employees not to enter confidential information into chatbots like OpenAI’s ChatGPT or Google’s own Bard over fears of leaks

Gizmodo

@asmodai

They are just advising that employees not put sensitive or confidential information into chatbot systems.

This is super typical behavior for tech companies. IP is closely guarded and where it is allowed to go is highly scrutinized.

@Bmath You are missing the point here, I think.

These same companies have no qualms letting others use these systems without any such warnings or disclaimers.

Aside from that, they are already under investigation of breaching GDPR and similar regulations.

So it's a bit of a hypocritical situation, yes?

@asmodai

Anything u put into most #AI chatbots is not private. Your inputs are viewable by reviewers AND are used to further train the model you are interacting with. For this reason it seems obvious to keep company IP out of the AI space for now.

These disclaimers are out there. It’s right in #ChatGPT’s FAQs
