Now cruising the Local feed, tackling the corporate and organization accounts, and trying to flag down the individuals who appear to be unaware the server's closing. This is not good.

Seriously. If people want Mastodon in general to attract more users, they ought to make a *minimum* effort to help those who are already here. IMHO.

@anotherwest I’m pretty pissed off about this as I didn’t see any notices. Found out today when unable to connect via Mona. Not excusing my failure (although how am I supposed to know if no one follow posts about it?). This makes the whole decentralised Mastobatron feel flakey and hacked together in a garage. Most upset about all the bookmarks I had saved for later.

@Phy I'm still angry as well.

In April, I saw two people panicking in the Local feed about a weird post by Ralf. But his "decision" post was a few weeks later.

The actual notice was a little icon that appeared at the top-right of your acct Home page (web version) in May. Clicking on it popped up a "This server is closing" notice.

I didn't spot it up there until I was already boosting my old posts onto the new server.

Nothing about this was fine.
