Republicans just made canceling free school lunches their priority

3/4 house republicans belong to The Republican Study Committee

In their proposed budget, they seek to:
end the School Lunch Program’s CEP
end social security
end Medicare
end benefits for the disabled
and to lower taxes for the top 1%

So you’ll force women to have children but then you’ll force them to starve?

I’ll be clear. If you vote Republican then you disgust me.

@flexghost
im finding it difficult to fight my way through the 167 pages of small-print gobblety gook, to find the specific items mentioned! can you linky an analysis (or refer to page numbers) that specifies what they say? the few pages i skimmed just had lies lies lies lies -- awfully frustrating.

Conservatives' budget plan renews battle over seniors' benefits - Roll Call

The plan would gradually raise the age at which future retirees can start claiming full Social Security benefits from 67 to 69.

Roll Call

"The impossible is only impossible until it becomes possible."

To those that say this is just the GOP's "dream list" and it'll never happen don't bet on it. They're pushing the "Overton window" so far to neoliberal authoritarianism that it's possible many someday will see these racial ideas as acceptable.

Democrats are corrupt but Republicans are monsters. Even those that publicly say they don't support the far right but are still part of the party. Enablers enable the monsters.

@brianbeeler we fight back by uniting. As long as we complain online alone, it’s like pissing on a wildfire. Only collectively, can we be heard above the clatter.

@damnkimberlee "we fight back by uniting. As long as we complain online alone, it’s like pissing on a wildfire. Only collectively, can we be heard above the clatter."

Perfectly said. Thanks for saying it.

So how to get started? Simple mutual aid in the form of a weekly pot luck meal with friends. Online is meaningless. Offline is meaningful.

Again, you're reply was perfect.

@flexghost The GOP is the place where poisonous ideas go to die.
@Cirdan it would be great if they did die. But evil lives
@flexghost Republicans hate America. Every position/policy that they have is explicitly designed to kill as many Americans as possible.
@DarthWombat we can look to Covid or pretty much any republican policy for proof
@DarthWombat @flexghost They should be classified as a hate group.
@flexghost For real... It's only a disgusting person that would vote republican... And that one word (disgusting) describes all republicans... Every last one of them...
@customer228 not all Christians are Republican, but they sure are a lot of them

@flexghost won’t somebody think of the children.

Why are people so mean. Bambino’s have done nowt.

@flexghost I feel like a broken record…as always, the cruelty is the point.

@flexghost

But lots of tax breaks for the wealthy, lots of favors for big oil and lots of Hunter…lots and lots of Hunter

@flexghost how can humans be so cruel? I can't not think these people are inferior beings.
@leandrofelgueiras they think the same of anyone not like them
@flexghost they do the opposite of what Jesus would do. Karma will get them.
@flexghost That image is its own reference for the absent character of the GOP. Look at Ryan, ostensibly a "good Republican" faking hilarity because he's too cowardly to face the monster in front of him.
@flexghost Thank you for the link. I’ll take a look 👀

@flexghost

Republicans have always had a very simple and brutal economic philosophy fellow citizen flexghost.

@flexghost "For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink."
@flexghost The federal school lunch program was established in 1946 as a nat'l defense issue. See, when the U.S. entered WWII, many military recruits had suffered from malnutrition as kids during the Great Depression. As a result, they were turned away. To help ensure that American children receive basic nutrition at school, the program was created as a result. One would think that the GOP would support having children fed if only for this purpose, but no.
