Is lemmy.world more active than lemmy.ml? - Lemmy.world

So apologies if this is a stupid question as I’m new to Lemmy. Came from Reddit. I moved to lemmy.world and have noticed that lemmy.ml [http://lemmy.ml] has been popping up as another featured instance. What differs from lemmy.world vs lemmy.ml [http://lemmy.ml]? Is .ml more active? Part of why I ask this is because I downloaded the lemmur client on my phone and it defaults to lemmy.ml [http://lemmy.ml]. (Yes I’m aware that app is no longer being maintained) Again apologies for the stupid question.

Don't sign up to lemmy.ml or you'll need to sign up again on a new instance when they get defederated. Tankies. I guess a blind eye is being turned right now because numbers are important for survival atm, but I wouldn't consider it a future-proof instance.

It never ceases to amuse me that throngs of liberals, fleeing from yet another capitalist centralized service doing what capitalist centralized services do, are so quick to denigrate the work of the communists that made their flight to an alternative possible in the first place. We wouldn't have Lemmy -- and the numerous improvements to Groups in the ActivityPub standard -- if it weren't for communists like them.

Also, LemmyGrad.ml has most of the "tankies." Lemmy.ml is more generically socialist.

I don't think tinwhiskers has problems with communists. If they had problem with communists, they would surely have said "communists".

They said "tankies". I am more inclined to suggest their issue is with tankies, not communists.

"Tankie" is a pejorative for Marxist-Leninist, the most successful approach to building communism in all of history, responsible for improving the material conditions of hundreds of millions of people on a scale never before seen in history. Anyone who unironically uses "tankie" as a pejorative in the 21st century is thoroughly anti-communist, be it intentionally or otherwise.
Communism is great. Tankies are just fascists with some red masks on and not compatible with freeing the people
Yep https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_fascism Soviet Union, North Korea, China built some shitty oppressive regimes and called them "communism". Making heavy use of the quirk of human psyche (that majority of world population possess, I'm afraid) of being incapable of looking at things past the label.
Oppressors through human history have liked and still like to lie what they represent to gather support from the gullible masses

I'm aware of what tankie means. I'm a Marxist myself.

I stand by my analysis. Tankie is a form of communist, and to hate tankies is not to hate all communists.
