I'm amused someone's bothered to add a Wiktionary entry for it.

https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/enshittification

I'm also amused that people are going from Reddit to Discord. Both are currently undergoing this process.

Alright, let me see, is there already a #lemmy instance I like, or do I start my own?

@faoluin I’ve seen a few mentions of discord at Discord, but no details. ELI5?
@joeygibson it's owned by a corporation. corporations want to make money. people chatting costs money to host, but doesn't make money. ergo eventually they will do terrible things in an attempt to make money. yay capitalism
@faoluin @textfiles @JordiGH This image, except it’s each company Grim Reaping itself
@jkohlmann @textfiles @JordiGH The only exception is Freenode, which was a hostile takeover. But the new ownership drove it into the ground within a week or so.
@faoluin it's a company; greedy bastards are already there. just a matter of time before they attempt to "monetize"

@faoluin @JordiGH Discords death cannot come soon enough
