My garden is so beautiful now but we're about to have a stretch of 100-106°F days (38-41°C) and I usually lose most of my plants this way. The last two years I was too sick to care about the garden but this year by god I will keep everything as alive as possible.

How to garden during a 100+-degree heat wave

Don’t.  Seriously, don’t try to do any gardening when it’s as hot as it is in my part of North Carolina right now. We are predicted to see — and feel — a string of at …

It has been a million degrees under the Hell Dome for weeks, but my garden is still hanging in there. I do every desert farming thing I ever saw on YouTube and today I planted a bunch of leggy seedlings I started not even a week ago, deep so that the stems root in the soil. There are pots and bottles with holes in them so I can water the roots without wrecking the soil. We have water restrictions, so I water with the hose twice a week and fill a bucket or two a day to fill makeshift ollas.
Also one of the friendliest community cats sleeps in my garden, right on top of a bunch of flowers, and I love how happy he is so I just let him.
Like, if I were little and sleepy and it was a million degrees, you bet I would curl up in a ball in a pile of weird volunteer purple flowers. He's like a Snorlax. Just a wonderful little guy who takes naps and looks like a fancy gentleman.
