#redditmigration #reddit

One of my friends is a mod of a very large subreddit that went private for the blackout. Last night she received a message saying that she had been stripped of her moderator rights and the subreddit was taken public again. To be very clear, the subreddit members had specifically voted in favor of going private.

It seems like reddit will stoop lower and lower to try and break the blackout. I'm seething.

@Tsutsuku Ow. Do you happen to know if other moderators disagreed with the regular members' vote and so took her rights away?

(I can't see Reddit *admins* doing it, but you never know).

@bazbt3
I know that one of the mods has been explicitly going and deleting all of her comments so I'm assuming that mod infighting is a factor

@Tsutsuku Thanks. Aren't people weird.

It's one of the reasons I'm not sure what I'd do if someone asked to co-moderate one I run solo (but didn't create) - 142 subscribers so unlikely that'll ever happen. Unless something unprecedented got in the way.
