Within a week, #Lemmy has grown by 80,000 users.

If Lemmy were a Silicon Valley start-up, this would be big news.

If Lemmy were Bluesky, this would be big news.

If Lemmy were an A.I. company, this would be big news.

However, with the exception of @[email protected]’s Techdirt, the tech press refuses to cover the #RedditMigration.

atomicpoet's instance

@atomicpoet Apparently #Lemmy is #tankies and has moderation issues that leave certain populations vulnerable, especially #trans people.

#Kbin is another alternative I've seen recommended.

@ricardoharvin @[email protected] I'm a trans woman that runs a queer lemmy instance and moderates several lemmy and kbin communities.

Because both platforms are so new, neither of them have robust moderation features, but they are sufficient to support a strong queer community in relative safety.

There are reasons to use kbin over lemmy, but moderation isn't one of them

Interesting ... I haven't seen anyone talk about moderation features and needs before. I read the docs briefly on what tools are provided to community moderators, and it seemed to cover the bases.

Curious what your thoughts and experiences are? Could be something informationuseful for the community at large? But I'm just asking out of curiosity ... no stress!!
