Funny how I can manage a massive todo list of errands, build and repair devices and electronics, successfully manage a budget, and juggle complex interpersonal relationships IN ZELDA but not in real life.
@shanselman I was gonna be like "to be fair on the building/repairing part, you can't just goop things together IRL" but that's just soldering innit
@shanselman I still need a todo list on my iPhone for all the stuff fairies require for my upgrades
@shanselman if I could save, take a break, restore to a previous save, and fail/die and restore like in games, I expect I would be better off too
@shanselman That's what happens when you have well designed software supporting all of those activities. Nintendo is really missing out on a potential IRL market for their productivity tools.
@shanselman I was finding your post super discouraging right up to "IN ZELDA". Thanks.
@shanselman I want automated quest tracking in real life!
@shanselman It sounds like you are reaching EVE levels of the-game-is-your-job now
@shanselman link doesn't get interrupted by needing to eat on a regular schedule, or poop, or shower, or remember to take advil for knee pain and claritin for allergies... and his house (even if you leave it open to the elements!) doesn't need to be vacuumed. And he doesn't have to wash dishes...
@shanselman people are crediting save files but I think the ability to pause is the thing that really makes it possible.
@shanselman I don't have a switch, but I suspect those things actually being *fun* might also be a factor ๐Ÿ˜
@shanselman I've always wanted a personal CRM to be able to manage that betterโ€ฆ and I can definitely empathize.
@shanselman there are no bubbulgems in Outlook caves.
