I just realized there are several people who I follow whose posts haven’t been showing up on Ivory even though I know they’re actively posting.

I know this problem is Ivory-specific because I can see them just fine on other apps.

Two of those people are @Talia_christine and @donmelton

One thing I just noticed is that both are on mstdn.social, so I’m wondering if that has anything to do with it?

@ivory, I understand why you wouldn’t pre-load posts from a newly-loaded profile on a different server, but I should at least be able to see them once I’m following them, right? Is there a setting or something else I’m missing here? I feel like I’m missing out on a lot of good stuff and interesting people due to lack of visibility.

@Alice @Talia_christine Yikes! Sorry that you're having this problem. TC and I don't want you to miss out on any of our boosty goodness. Or our regular posts either!

I'm looking through this thread now and unfortunately I have nothing useful to add in terms of fixes or even theories as to why it's happening. 😬🤷‍♀️

Does it happen when you use another client instead of @ivory? For example, the Web browser UI?

@donmelton @Talia_christine @ivory

I can see your posts in other apps and in my web browser, so that’s how I know it’s related to Ivory, but @bwbeach said they use Ivory and can see your posts, so I’m not sure.

@Bam mentioned a setting in Ivory to only show the first time something is boosted, which I do have enabled, but that doesn’t explain why I can’t even see your own posts.

I’m hoping it’s just a setting in Ivory, but I’ve checked to ensure you’re not muted and boosts are enabled, so I’m not sure what else could be causing this.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that @ivory can steer me in the right direction; otherwise, I’ll probably just go back to using the web browser, but I only view Mastodon from my phone so I’m not looking forward to that.

@Alice @Talia_christine @ivory @bwbeach @Bam Wow! Now I understand. That really *is* weird then. 🤔

Yeah, I hope the Ivory folks respond. @paul, are you hearing this?

It probably comes as no surprise to anyone, but I usually use a Web browser to access Mastodon. I even use the Advanced Web UI on my iPhone. 🤷‍♀️

But I'm a major league nerd so I don't recommend that for everyone. 🤓

@donmelton @Alice @Talia_christine I feel totally vindicated for using my browser on my phone instead of an app. 😂
@donmelton @Alice @Talia_christine @ivory @bwbeach @Bam @paul “Don Melton’s Mastodon client is Safari” may be the most on-brand thing I’ve ever seen on this service.
@donmelton @Alice @Talia_christine @ivory @bwbeach @Bam @paul I had major issues using both the Mastodon app and Ivory. I’ve switched to @IceCubesApp and the experience is great now.
