The feature that allows you to share passkeys and passwords in iOS 17 and macOS Sonoma is not at all limited to families. You can set up shared groups with any collection of close contacts. And you can set up as many groups as you’d like. :)
@rmondello this is my favorite new software feature from what was announced! thank you so much.
@kommen @rmondello I hope it works with other apps/browsers. That’s what keeps me locked in to 1Password
@rmondello cool features, but sadly I’m not living in an apple only world, so I guess 1Password will be better suited for me
@nkow14 Thanks for your feedback.
@rmondello can this work like a “vault”? Where I have a family which consists of spouse and two children. Can I keep my own passwords and each of them theirs but one “vault” where we have shared passwords?
@Moe_NYC Yes, it works like that.
@rmondello 😍😍😍. Yes!!!! Thank you so much for your hard work!!! Can’t wait until iOS 17 launch!!
@rmondello @Moe_NYC This is great, Ricky! Thanks to you and the team for your continued work on this tech, my friend! ❤️🤘
@rmondello recently deleted also 🙌🏻. Not sure if this is true but I saw a post that apparently there’s some sort of password history if you change it or something.
@rmondello thanks to you and the team. Getting strong security practices into the hands of millions (billions?) at scale in an easy to use way is awesome.
@rmondello that’s great! Thanks for sharing.
@rmondello what an incredible run y'all are on
@rmondello this and shared AirTags are neck and neck for best features. IMO they didn’t get enough time at WWDC. I think I would give these two features the time that was given to the apple vision(vive?) pro
@rmondello amazing! Can passwords be shared temporarily? For example, sharing a password to someone and then revoking access after a defined time period?
@rmondello Can I export/import or otherwise share outside the iCloud ecosystem?
@rmondello I need to get to my passwords etc. from Windows or at least a browser extension on Windows. This is keeping me on 1Password.
And a dedicated app for password management would be great
@thm76 It’s already on Windows! There’s an iCloud Passwords app and Chrome extension over there.
@rmondello this is so nice personally I see it as a way to support a diverse definition of families:
my family isn’t necessarily one group of individuals who know each other, or share things with everyone, etc.
(And that allows also sharing outside of family: roommates, coworkers, etc.)
@rmondello You all are making it harder and harder to justify the 1Password subscription.

@rmondello this feature is so great. Let’s me move off 1Password all the way.

Question as I get more into Apple Passwords. I noticed I can’t add a URL to an entry, but Hulu.com is auto associated with my Disneyplus.com login, which is perfect. Does your team keep record of domains that share logins somehow?

Is there a way to add a URL to an entry that I’m missing? Some entries have 2, and I’m not sure how it happened.

@rmondello I've been wanting this feature for a long time. So glad it's coming! Thank you!
