Meta CEO Critiques Apple's Vision Pro

Apple's Vision Pro enters the AR/VR market, but Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg questions its ability to bring anything new to the table.

@gadgetbond I don’t know that #visionpro has to bring anything new to the table to get off the ground. It just has to be made by Apple and people will eat it up, despite the naysayers. It takes all the stuff everyone loves about Apple…and makes it “real”. Sold. It’s a keystone example of the intersection between brand value and brand loyalty.

Besides, every new #apple product completely bombs before it wipes the floor with the competition within a few years’ time. Don’t hold your breath.

@minimumsix @gadgetbond I think the interesting thing is that this particular medium has a lot of headwinds against it, and are those barriers strong enough to overcome Apple‘s consistent brand momentum? The other interesting question is how the market respond to the cost and if Apple‘s true vision involves a mainstream variant that is a different cost, I think we underestimate the willingness of people to spend that much with Apple. See MacBook Pro 16 vs MacBook Air. iPad Pro vs iPad/iPad air.
@techinterested @gadgetbond #apple is a good storyteller. I think they’re going to at least pique the interest of a portion of the market that #meta will leave untapped because they want people to leave their reality for a different one. Hard sell for most normals who find real life to be quite compelling on its own without any help from tech companies. Apple says “no, live your life, we’ll just join you and make it better.” We’ll see how well that holds up over time though.
