Also helping universities to engage open solutions and data - collaborating with the University of Łódź on OSM mapping as a teaching tool.
They mapped restaurants, pubs and other POIs.
With several conference attendees and speakers mentioning the lack of open solutions at universities, there's some potential for our host, University of Latvia, as well :)

Yes, that is a legacy they will have to work _very_ hard to overcome - some time ago I did bring it up with them as well.
In a way it might be good - they already know that they have to try extra hard :)
