In case you think the issue here is "Trump had a document in a box," this article (no paywall) will disabuse you of that notion. https://wapo.st/43P0RYJ
Evidence grows that Trump hoarded documents — and showed them to people

The slow emergence of new details yields an increasingly clear picture.

The Washington Post
@pbump exactly:
"It’s that he took them to a facility where he hosts paying customers, political supplicants and publicly accessible events."
@pbump @LexyCameron The article misses a key date. Several boxes of documents were photographed being removed from the White House on January 14, 2021 — not the 20th.
@pbump paywalled for me
@moku @pbump the wapo link worked for me, but not the preview
@pbump Well... If we don't pay up, they withhold the article should we withhold our email addresses. It's still a form of a paywall; they'll sell our data or harass us for a subscription. I'm sure it's a lovely article.
@stevesplace @pbump just put a bogus email. Garbage in garbage out
@pbump Highest bidder. Criminal that he is. 2 million got pardons. No more candy coating.
@pbump The burden of proof must be extraordinary in this case, which is why this indictment is more than a political gotcha. The stakes are too high for it not to be

@pbump

Just to bragg and boast his ego i guess… this clown should never be allowed near any public office ever again. Plain dangerous.

@pbump I know it is a daft question, but why did he not just scan, or photograph, the documents, and return the paper copies or even scan them without removing front the White House in the first place? Or if that is to high tech for him, why not just photocopy them? Yes, illegal, I am sure, but surely way harder to get caught!
@revk @pbump
Don't give the bastard any new ideas for egregious crimes.
@pbump Perhaps, like so many other people afflicted with hoarding, Trump needs professional help?

@pbump

Good article, thanks. I know that "bring" vs "take" is a live issue, but honestly,

"Trump leaves the White House, BRINGING a number of boxes containing documents and other material with him to his home at Mar-a-Lago."

seems a lot more like TAKING, to me. - Jaime

@pbump can the people he showed them to, sue trumpster for assault? One minute you are having polite conversation and the next you are shown a classified document that makes you guilty for looking at it.
