My mum is in her late 70s. She instinctively refers to people only a couple of years older than her as 'old people'. She gets Lego sets for her birthday. She owns an animatronic Grogu. Ask her who her favourite Marvel character is and she will tell you it's Deadpool.

@Richard_Littler

Your mum sounds cool.

Mine also thinks people near her own age are old and doesn't see herself that way. But my mum is in care home.

@Richard_Littler My mom just turned 85 and can talk for hours about whether Amos (The Expanse) is just Jayne (Firefly) with better guidance. Hours. She's totally that Betty White meme except she doesn't need a walker. It's incredible! What I'm saying is, I don't think either of them are ever going to fit the "old people" stereotype 😁

@Richard_Littler I've got a friend who's just turned 69 and she's always out at gigs and shows and still camps at a few festivals every year.

In fact, I went to my first festival last year (I'm 34, just never really liked the idea of camping) and she managed all the camping stuff, and she had way more stamina than me in the evenings 😄 being retired helps, I guess.
