Until smoke comes to journalism centers like New York. Then it gets coverage.

Mind you, the coverage is not of wildfires, or climate change. The coverage is of the smoke.
I'm subscribed to Nixle, the police announcements app.
Towns' PDs in my area advised that smoke from the Canada #wildfires have reached our area.
Then,
"Do not be alarmed by a smoky haze or odor of smoke"
Say what.
The AQI maps say my area has "hazardous" levels of particulate pollution and I don't need to be alarmed?
Climate change means there's more of this to come - and I don't need to be alarmed?
