Funny how Apple set out to make a realtime OS for a car, but ended up using it for ski goggles instead.

(I joke, but snark aside, this is one of the most satisfying parts of engineering: repurposing what you've built for something totally new.)

@caseyliss The component in the OS layer diagram you’re referring to was engineered entirely in TDG, starting in 2018.
@alexr wait which component? We recorded for a few minutes last night. 🤪😵‍💫
@caseyliss The realtime layer.
@alexr So you're saying it *was* from Titan then. 😏
@caseyliss No, I said it was entirely done in TDG.

@alexr What is TDG then?

I'm too far removed from the acronym soup that is modern corporate America

@caseyliss TDG is the department behind ARKit, RealityKit, and the Vision Pro. The VP is Mike Rockwell -- his title during the presentations refers to the group name Technology Development Group.
@alexr Ah, thanks, I missed that. It's been a long 24 hours. 😵‍💫
