Climate crisis dissonance. To the left, I see that the council has made vendors price their food according to its cost to the climate. To the right, I see the car company selling cars to people while telling them how to reduce their CO2 impact. Good thing my emotional rollercoaster doesn’t run on fossil fuel.

Carbon pricing on food is a great idea! Plant-based meat and dairy alternatives are usually a lot more expensive than the originals, despite cheaper ingredients. IMHO all consumer products (especially giant SUVs & pickups!) should have a #CarbonTax. Also home sales (new & resale). Bet that would cut down on #McMansion developments! Maybe even add carbon tax to property taxes for all homes, since large homes cost more to heat/cool. And bring back tolls, but for carbon, on all highways.

@echanda All good and necessary initiatives. This was the first time I'd seen carbon-regulated food pricing anywhere. Fair play to the council.
