Libraries are the best!
@kscearce Yes, but #Republicans are offering free citizenship in the Land of Ignorance!
@kscearce
I remember checking out my limit when I received my first library card.🤓
@kscearce Every day is Christmas at the library.
@kscearce The architecture of buildings reflects the importance of what we do inside them. I used to go to this library when I was a kid growing up on the South Side of Chicago.
@12thRITS That library is GORGEOUS! I would move in.

@12thRITS @kscearce

Something I love about this part of New England: every town has a cool-ass funky library in a cute old building, and there are wood-paneled reading rooms or window seats with cushions or random wardrobes to Narnia.

@kscearce
Having fun isn't hard
if you got a library card!
@kscearce It's been so long since I set foot in one 😟
@kscearce I remember as a kid when my dad would encourage me to go. I had a card and did go. I challenged him because I knew he didn't have a card. I don't think he ever did as an adult but he made significant financial donations.
@kscearce
I’ve spent hours in libraries getting lost in books.
@kscearce, you've just made me move my library card to a more visible slot in my wallet.
@kscearce No wonder the right treats libraries with suspicion; on a regular basis right wing politicians here in Toronto threaten library funding in the name of “efficiencies.”
@kscearce
This daughter of a librarian wholeheartedly agrees! ❤️
@kscearce Of course the way things are going Librarians may all be in jail for having ban books.

@James5v @kscearce

Librarians are fucking metal 🤘 and I love that Sir Pterry made the Librarian of Unseen University an orangutan 🤘🤘 and I wish there were more orangutan librarians for when the GOP try to enforce a book ban

@kscearce

Just renewed my card yesterday. Libraries are awesome, but *librarians* (and the volunteers) are the gas that makes the car go. Deep respect and thanks to the folks that keep the library running. Fund them!

@kscearce I'm headed to my first friends of my local library meeting this month!
@kscearce Something something curiosity voyage
@kscearce they are 100% the best ☺️ so are the #Peanuts and #Linus
@kscearce One of the first things I did when I moved to Philly, and I made a point to do it in the last two cities I lived in as well. I can't remember the last time I actually took out a book. I just love libraries and I love having a library card.
@cocoadog I still have my library cards from almost every place I've ever lived. My own little collection of happiness.🙂
@kscearce And I just make a retraining to be a library employee. 📚🤓

Das ist doch was für Ralf …

Libraries are the best.

My favorite point about libraries is how they are a strong example of why it is often better to provide services independent of means testing. No one at the library asks if you are able to afford your own books.

Not means testing libraries means that both powerful and marginalized communities support libraries. Not means testing is also often cheaper than trying to gather, monitor, and maintain the information needed for means testing.

We should have more services and means test them less.

Libraries are the best. :)

@kscearce they certainly are.
@kscearce
Libraries and PBS are two things I can think for growing up an enlightened individual.
