An iOS app where you manage a theatre production made up of cute insects/worms/beetles as the actors.

While we're talking about paying actors and athletes what they're worth...

WNBA contract renegotiation numbers just came out. The players negotiated that WNBA salaries should be a percent of league profits, just like most other major sports leagues. So you add up league revenues, take ~20% of that, and divide it among the players. Women's basketball salaries just jumped from an average of $78K a year, to $585K a year.

If you ask guys who never played in the NBA, who are the best shooters of all time, they give you a list of men, including Steph Curry.

But if you ask Steph Curry himself, he includes Azzi Fudd.

She's projected to be the number one WNBA draft pick in 2026, just in time to see that salary increase.

After reading that toot I immediately rewatched The Octopus Lady's video about coconut crabs.

Why Coconut Crabs Would Make Excellent Hired Goons

I recommend reading this whole discussion from the beginning. I'm quoting this particular toot because the phrase "coconut crab ants" has been stuck in my head. I look around the room and imagine how fascinatingly chilling it would be to see ants crawling around with shiny heads the size of grapefruits.

When I do a git pull, some Xcode tabs lose the file they were editing. I'm using the option in Fork to stash modified files and apply the stash after pulling. Xcode didn't used to have this problem, and it's driving me nuts.

The only workaround I can think of has been to close the Xcode project and reopen it after pulling, which is utterly ridiculous, not to mention a pain in the ass. Is there a better way?

It's 4:15am. I slept all day yesterday and woke a couple of hours ago in a weird state of mind. Will see how the day goes. Conveniently, there's a restaurant open that makes delicious Korean fried chicken. I'll start up my rice cooker, place an order, and take a shower.

Next you're going to try to tell me that in 1978 people believed a man can fly. Everybody knows a man can't fly!!! Even if he could, there was no camera in 1978 that could follow him around. Hashtag I-am-very-smart.

@futurebird @Phosphenes Individual bees are *shockingly* intelligent. They need to be, really - they need to communicate as complex things to each other as ants do, but they can't leave chemical trails (obviously) so they need a more complex system of "talking" to each other and good memory.

Ants' "collective intelligence" can accomplish more things than bees', though, precisely because they can coordinate rapidly in ways that bees can't.

so hey
