99% of reported hate speech by Twitter Blue users was not taking down. You’re actually paying $8/month to be immune from content moderation. https://www.thedailybeast.com/twitter-fails-to-remove-hate-speech-by-blue-check-users-says-report-from-center-for-countering-digital-hate
Twitter Fails to Remove Hate Speech by Blue-Check Users, Center for Countering Digital Hate Says

If you pay $8 a month, Twitter will boost your tweets, new research found, even if you post about how “Hitler was right.”

Ben & Jerry’s ends advertising on Twitter due too much hate speech. Gotta love questioning the ethics of advertising as a business model to replace it with paid hate speech for $8/month as the superior model.

@carnage4life hope they set the example for many others to follow
@carnage4life Well, it will be a self-fulfilling prophecy as respectable businesses will start to steer clear, and soon enough it will just be a bunch of hate mongers in a big echo chamber.
@carnage4life I think it says something when (and, to be clear, I've turned off targeted advertising!) the main Twitter ads I see are from the UK government for a "stop being a paedophile" helpline and warnings to avoid being scammed by crypto. Really captures the new target market.

@carnage4life

I get that I need to strive to be a more pleasant and accepting person but my reflex here was "wait, they were still advertising on #twitter?"

Is it me or do these two get a nearly free ride?

@carnage4life

It is turning into one huge 2016 era 4Chan.

@carnage4life The boosting and protection from reporting was a feature of legacy verified from the start. If you read the fine print about Twitter Blue when it was first introduced in 2021 (almost a year before Musk), it gave $8kun the same privileges. Don't believe the Dorsey boys that this was something they were horrified about after the sale.
(There was a whole ranking system of legacy verifieds about who was untouchable. Musk was 2nd, behind the US president.)

@carnage4life yeah, but also...

which content moderation?

@carnage4life this is not twitter. You better tell this at twitter.
