Brent Simmons

NetNewsWire has special support for Reddit — we use the Reddit API.

I haven’t checked yet to see if we can get some kind of exclusion from the new pricing, but it’s unlikely, which means we’ll have to remove our extra Reddit support. (We’ll still support RSS from Reddit, of course.)

@brentsimmons The dumb thing here is that I already pay Reddit to access it; NNW shouldn't have to pay Reddit for me to access the resource I'm paying them for just because it's over an API.

@brentsimmons if it is any comfort, there are people like me who never have and never will use either Reddit or Twitter [nor many other of the intentionally addictive social media platforms ]. I am ok with paying for services that leave my ID and data alone.
