one thing I think we should have carried over from magazines to phones is that when you turn it sideways it means you’re looking at racy content. missed opportunities for visual gags

@casey We did carry that over, you're just misunderstanding: It's not "turning it sideways" that indicates you're looking at racy content, it's "viewing it in portrait orientation". Which, in the era of getting the internet beamed directly to your telephone... Yes, everyone's looking at racy content all the time. Maybe you're not, but you're missing out.
@casey not strictly related but i asked a french-speaking professor once if mixing up formal vous/informal tu over the phone was a stock sitcom gag and he said "no. no it's very serious"
