Getting the train to Exeter and walking back to Teignmouth (or as far as I get before I give up and get a train) down the estuary then along the sea front. Should be a beautiful day for it! I'll try to remember to add some pictures as I go
It starts! Not sure why I look so pissed off, I'm having a nice time already. Would quite like some breakfast though...
Found coffee but didn't like the look of the gluten free cakes or vegan pain au chocolat. Will see what it can find along the way
Found breakfast finally, at lunch time
Ferry to Exmouth from Starcross. Let's not get that as it'd add about 20km onto the walk
Time for a swim, then an ice-cream
Made it to teignmouth and thankfully the tide isn't too high to get under here or I'd have a big hill to walk back up
Annnnnd, I'm done! 25k or there abouts. Nearly 8 hours since I started in Exeter. It's been a nice day. Listened to a whole episode of fall of civilisations podcast end to end which was pleasant
@robinwarren that's a long walk 💪
@JohanEmpa yeah man, mostly flat though and no rush either end so feels ok. Glad to have done it finally, been thinking about it for a few months 😁
@robinwarren Did you actually walk on the beach, in the sand, or is it a bike/walking path along the coast?
@JohanEmpa walking path all the way. I think there were bits you could do on the estuary but not sure about timings with the tide and access points so didn't go for that!
@robinwarren Well done - and I just checked the Fall of Civilizations podcast and realised why I haven't listened to it yet. Some of those episodes go on longer than the civilisations did
