It’s the epitome of copying notes from somebody without having the understanding of what it all means. It’s a kind of a cargo cult of politics. They see left wingers use some of these expressions. They try to copy those with their own ideas and hope it has the same affect. The sad thing is that the other right wingers don’t know any better either. The can’t tell the difference because they don’t have the intellect or motivation to call out the hypocrisy.

Tim Gatewood@godpod it's only hypocrisy if you ignore the core belief of conservatives: there must be an in group whom the law protects but does not bind and an out group whom the law binds but not protect. And they're the in group. They want all the freedom & none of the consequences for themselves. That's what being a conservative means. Hypocrisy only applies if the same rules apply to everyone, which they don't accept.

Highly-targeted internet marketing and adtech also enables them to selectively contradict themselves to the people most susceptible to “hearing” the message the way that they need. That is then tapped into by mainstream politicians through dog whistles and the standard talking points.
