Deregulation is just another form of trickle-down economics. Republicans in Congress have cut protections for workers and the environment on the promise it would boost the economy.

Instead, the gains haven’t trickled down and the American people have been left holding the bag.

@rbreich
Made me think of how 'regulations' are removed for billion dollar corps but traffic stops are a regular source for police killings.

Of course an Atlanta 'Cop City' type training area for police populace control is what's needed?

@rbreich obligatory: I’ve got a joke about trickle down economics, but 99% of you won’t get it.
@rbreich It's an old story, is it not?
@rbreich socialize costs and risks; privatize profits. It’s the Republican formula.
@rbreich
As usual!! You'd think at some point we'd learn. The GOP has been doing this for years!
@rbreich And brain dead Republican voters haven't figured it out yet?
When will they wake up?
@rbreich more aptly termed "trickle-on" economy
@rbreich or more precisely "tinkle-on" economy
@rbreich Deregulation of the retail electricity market in Texas has led to some of the highest electricity prices in the nation as well as a very unstable supply grid. This is totally opposite of what was promised before the deregulation.
@rbreich
We need to start using “ protections” instead of the word “regulations.” Then maybe, just maybe, their importance would be clearer.
@rbreich
It is funny, but I haven't heard of a low income republican becoming "rich" magically.
