In which my attempt to maintain an even tone in the face of encroaching American Fascism cracks and I emit an unrestrained howl of rage. Also, you get to meet a deceased anti-Fascist with a lesson to teach: https://www.tbray.org/ongoing/When/202x/2023/05/15/Antifa-Ethics
Antifascist Ethics

ongoing by Tim Bray
@timbray I want so badly for us to climb our way out. I hope your advice, a long with many others, helps us.
@timbray an additional thought, target the revenue of various media sources - advertisers - and call them out for their support.

@timbray can I suggest 'slaver-states' rather than 'slave-states'?

Otherwise, yeah, hard agree.

@timbray note that the cynical subsidy of nativists by plutocrats was true in the 1930s, too.

@timbray thanks for your article. i especially liked the point about humor. fascism insists it be taken seriously, but most of the time all you can do is point and laugh in its face. it hates that.

in the words of kiese laymon (who is from mississippi, so he knows about fascists), "The worst of white folk will not be persuaded; they can only be beaten."
