I’m in, if it isn’t terribly expensive, provides world class low latency and frame rate stability. In other words, I’m out.

Sony’s new Q handheld is official: 8-inch screen, streams PS5 games

Sony will launch “Project Q” later in 2023, a dedicated Remote Play handheld gaming device with an 8-inch screen made to stream games from your PlayStation 5 over Wi-Fi.

@paul I feel like Sony has kinda painted themselves into a corner.

People love the Switch, and it's a no brainer to dock it in front of a TV. But then you take it with you and you have the whole thing.

This is *such* a weird product. I'm not totally understanding the use-case. It's for PS5 owners who don't have exclusive use of the TV that it is hooked up to, but ALSO have an extra... $300-$400(?)

@gregvr @paul I dunno it’s that weird if you consider homes with fewer TVs than people. I can imagine a lot of younger couples where one person wants to watch tv and the other wants to play and they don’t have space to support a second screen.

@donw @paul That's a really good point!

My son is moving into an apartment next year with 3 other college students and we're wondering what they are going to do about a TV-- it's not even clear that they are going to WANT a TV (they are all moving from living in dorms)

Would work perfectly for him.
