Sony’s new Q handheld is official: 8-inch screen, streams PS5 games

Sony will launch “Project Q” later in 2023, a dedicated Remote Play handheld gaming device with an 8-inch screen made to stream games from your PlayStation 5 over Wi-Fi.

@paul I feel like Sony has kinda painted themselves into a corner.

People love the Switch, and it's a no brainer to dock it in front of a TV. But then you take it with you and you have the whole thing.

This is *such* a weird product. I'm not totally understanding the use-case. It's for PS5 owners who don't have exclusive use of the TV that it is hooked up to, but ALSO have an extra... $300-$400(?)

@gregvr I think price should be around half of what you have listed. If it’s good I wouldn’t mind having one to play while chilling in the backyard.

@paul Hmmm. I suppose if it breaks $200 with the fabled $199, then it feels a BIT different.

But I'm guessing $299…

It's much more interesting if it could handle some form of local play, as well, but maybe that comes later?
