These are the two pages that got Amanda Gorman's book banned from a Florida school. According to Gorman's twitter account, the objecting parent contended they were "not educational" and contained "indirect hate messages." The group Miami Against Fascism found that the parent has links to white supremacist groups. And yet that one complaint led to the book being removed.

I just realized that my Covid brain wrote "right supremacist" instead of "white supremacist." Understandable to conflate the two, though, right? Sigh.
