Last I checked, the Pro (assembled) version had 7 in stock. There's also DIY versions available =)

So what can you do with an AirTalk? Here's one example:

I've connected my Mac Classic II to an AirTalk. Using Mini VMac (with UDP networking compiled). Both have File Sharing enabled. Both can see the each other's file servers!

Connecting to an AirTalk doesn't have to be a Mac. You can connect it to a LocalTalk enabled printer! Here I've connected it to my ImageWriter II with LocalTalk card installed. I can print to it from Mini VMac!

Using Timbuktu over a (wireless!) AirTalk, controlling my Mac Classic II via Mini VMac on my desktop. Let's catalog our "Film & Video Library" in FileMaker Pro 4!

Now Iโ€™ll know which #ImageWriterII has the #LocalTalk card installed. ๐Ÿ™ƒ#LiveLaughLocalTalk
@paulrickards Wow, can you still get ink for those?!?!
@paulrickards This is the CORRECT way to do it.

*GROAAAAN*

That is terrible. XD

@RL_Dane Terribly useful! ๐Ÿ˜…
@paulrickards An actual practical use for the stickers! I'm impressed ;) #LiveLaughLocalTalk
@paulrickards @smallsco but how do you know which one has the buffer RAM card installed?
@paulrickards omg... Filemaker pro... I remember using this at one of my jobs 20 years ago
@paulrickards if I still had Macs in my collection I would so buy one of these.
@paulrickards How is the host running Mini VMac connected to the network?
@ctb31 Via Ethernet to the same network the WiFi AP is connected to.
@paulrickards ESP + PIC12 is a bold choice in 2023 ...
@paulrickards Gotta load them drivers!
@48kRAM Indeed! Although I think it doesn't need the disk (it sets up WiFi) but certainly makes it easier and a more "Mac" experience.

@paulrickards Does this work with System 6, or just with System 7? I couldnโ€™t see anything on their site about it.

Was hoping to pick up a couple myself, but unfortunately they donโ€™t ship to Canada yet ๐Ÿ˜ข

@smallsco The only thing that might be specific is the WiFi selector in the Chooser. But that's a single one and done. You don't actually need it after that's set. It will happily work with any LocalTalk device you plug it into.
