Today is an exciting day. It's the launch day of Ivory for Macs!

@mark You probably shouldn’t associate Ivory with an app that provide such a poor experience on Apple’s platforms.
@platkus are you confused? The word max has existed for decades.
@Craktok I think you're the one who is confused. That's not just the word max. It's the logo of a new streaming service with subpar apps for Apple's platforms.

@platkus

OK m9 but I am still none the wiser as to what that has to do with Ivory 🤷🏼‍♂️

@C0NQUIST4D0R Look at the picture Mark posted announcing Ivory for Mac. The Ivory mascot is sitting next to the new Max streaming service logo.

@platkus

Yeah, I guess it’s like one of these modern “pun” type jokes or something?

Which is to say I don’t think they were overly trying to associate themselves with HBO, and even if they were, nor am I really arsed TBQHWY 😻

@C0NQUIST4D0R I feel like this isn’t really worth all the explaining, but since we’ve gone this far…
Yes, they were doing it on purpose because both Ivory for Mac and the new Max streaming service both launched today.

My point was that Ivory is a great Mac app, but the new apps for Max suck and are worse than the previous HBOMAX apps. And thus they might not want to associate their great app with such crap.

@platkus

Yeah I get all that, but my point remains - most likely no-one using Ivory *really* cares enough about that HBO or Max shit to make the connection that you have

(I’m in UK, YMMV)
