TIL that the walking spectre of Intellivision is still around, still plans to release the Amico, and Tommy Tallarico has been ousted and replaced with an Actual CEO who thinks the primary reason the Amico failed to reach market is a lack of partnerships and exclusivity and not "We quadrupled the price over the promised MSRP because we failed to gauge actual cost to market and now we're competing with the Switch on price and providing nothing to justify it".

Phew.
On paper at the first announcement the Amico's strength was it was the price of one of those "500 in 1" consoles that is a joystick you plug directly into the TV, but was an actual platform with an API and developers and a digital storefront with stricter guidelines on what was allowed so concerned parents and even gamers themselves knew exactly what they were getting.

Now they're poised for Ouya 2.0 if they even make market.
@trysdyn Glad to learn that the industry learned nothing from the Atari VCS debacle.
