Completed the first draft of a solo journaling game! It’s about a young GM in 1989, trying to complete a mini #ttrpg campaign with three friends. One of the players will confront a «problem» each week, from the categories Sports, Christianity, Partying, Family Trouble or Other Stuff. Do they have enough Roleplaying Power (the average of RPG Interest and Feeling of Belonging) to resist? It’s in Norwegian only for now. Designwise: Very little strategy - pure luck and emergent story.
In addition, for each game night, you roll a "weather die" to see what mood the players bring (and how the weather shifts outside). This modifies a "Harmony roll" to see if people are motivated or demotivated to continue.
The mechanics are actually quite dull, complicated and often percentile-based, as a tribute to many of the bigger systems of that era.
I even made up a Mastodon hashtag for people to share images from their journals. I will be very surprised if anybody uses #AtlanticGamers1989
