In 2007, Rob Meek came to us at FontShop with a wild idea: let people make fonts on the web using modular building blocks. Folks could quickly get into type design, while experiencing how difficult it is to master, thus gaining an appreciation for the craft. 15 years later, @fontstruct still has an active creator community! That first example looks like directly inspired by the embroidery font by Daniël Maarleveld without giving any credits.
@fontspectrum @fontstruct I thought of Minot https://fontsinuse.com/typefaces/45105/minot, but you’re right that it’s very close to Maarleveld’s font. When was that first shown?
