Can we please for the love of god stop collectively pretending Adderall isn’t meth?
@codinghorror No. There are people with ADHD for whom Adderall means they can get out of bed and do their laundry.
@kencrandall @timbray also true of alcohol, don't make it right.

@codinghorror I’m surprised to see such ignorance and indifference to other peoples struggles coming out of you.

Do you feel the same way about other *prescription* psychoactive medication? Anesthetics? What about other medications more broadly? How do you feel about harm reduction approaches to public health?
@kencrandall @timbray

What is the most dangerous drug?

Some drugs classified as highly dangerous are less harmful than alcohol or tobacco

The Economist

@codinghorror @kencrandall @timbray @Thinkish If I'm not mistaken (though I'm no expert), Adderall is #7 on that list.

It's still absolutely worth treating it with care, and any drug is dangerous when used too much, but amphetamines are not quite the same as methamphetamines, even if they are closely related.
