So Sen. Feinstein's medical condition is worse than she's disclosed, and the newly disclosed issue is one affecting cognition and memory.

This is incredibly sad for her and her family, and they deserve sympathy.

But she should have retired years ago, and absolutely should step down now.

@dangillmor Yes. Not only that, she’s had ample time to mentor several people to be more than capable of replacing her. This lack of forethought is endemic in the Democratic Party and it needs to stop.

@dangillmor It's crazy that she's letting her legacy be destroyed by her seemingly stubborn insistence on clinging to her Senate seat under these circumstances. She should step down down, with grace, and full respect she's earned in her lifetime of public service.

@dangillmor Her family deserves sympathy. She deserves compassionate care for her health condition(s) and dignity in her retirement.

She deserves scorn for occupying the seat for so long.
