Plenty of speculation on astronaut assignments for #NASA #Artemis2๐Ÿš€ #Moon๐ŸŒ” orbit mission. We know it'll be 3 NASA๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ & 1 CSA๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ. Of active US astronauts: any who aren't on ISS. "Countdown Begins for Artemis II Wet Dress Rehearsal" by #NASA #Artemis - Dress rehearsals in show business or #rocketry mean a practice run like the real thing. With rockets, "wet" means it includes filling liquid propellant tanks. If you saw "wet dress" and thought something else, you get a one-time pass because some rocketeers decades ago undoubtedly intended it that way to be funny. #SLS is a big rocket which takes many hours to fill. https://www.nasa.gov/blogs/missions/2026/01/31/countdown-begins-for-artemis-ii-wet-dress-rehearsal/ #Artemis2 #Moon๐ŸŒ•๏ธ #space

"Artemis II Wet Dress Rehearsal: Test Terminated at T-5:15" by #NASA #Artemis - #SLS rocket launch rehearsal did not complete due to a liquid hydrogen leak. @AstroHawk So is launch being pushed back?
@OliviaVespera My hunch is probably yes. But we don't know yet. The best advice is to watch for what kind of problem they say they found after they finish draining the enormous tanks and safing the vehicle. Until they can access the leak site, they probably don't know the effect yet either. Set expectations that delays can happen as needed to fix stuff.
@AstroHawk hexagons! The shape of the future!
@cinebox I dunno. I've seen some really old things made of hexagons too. (An example from geology is columnar jointing. Photo below by me from Black Rock Desert NV in Jan 2007.) But it does work well in the mission control redesign.
