Durham’s probe ends as it began: Pointing at trees to obscure the forest

The final report from the special counsel appointed by Attorney General William Barr works hard to justify its contents.

My favorite part of the report, by the way, is when Durham suggests that Mueller's probe needed to be examined since it didn't prove collusion — and then whines that even though he himself didn't bring many charges that didn't mean everything was kosher.

Which was what Mueller said, too. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/05/15/durham-report-analysis/

@pbump Guilty! (lack of proof means there is proof to be found)
@pbump He was a political appointee pursuing a transparently political investigation demanded by a sitting president and ordered by a hyper-partisan attorney general who was himself hired because he wrote a thesis asserting that GOP presidents, particularly the aforementioned sitting one, could do no wrong. He gave us what everyone expected: A stern lecture unsupported by any facts.

@pbump

Durham had something to report?

I am shocked, shocked I tell ya!

@pbump That last paragraph! 🔥

@pbump well said…

“This, that #durham picks out isolated trees as suspicious in an effort to obscure the forest, is the central flaw of his investigation. It has always been the central flaw.”

He spent 3+ yrs. trying to get other to join him…“
