I greatly respect Biden and was a big fan for decades prior to the 2010s. There is obvious reason why his poll numbers have diverged greatly from the relative health of the economy even as the Fed is trying to drive us into the abyss. Don't think we can blind ourselves to the realities.

Today I learned about something called the Sojourner Truth project (Detroit) and the White riots connected with it in 1942.
At this time, an estimated 5,000 *families (not individuals) were moving into Detroit every month, and there was simply not enough housing, adequate or otherwise. People were sleeping in railroad boxcars.

The broader issue is that Biden is deeply unpopular - not in the realm of Hilary, but more unpopular than any democratic president in living memory. Not b/c of likeability or even effectiveness.
It is the very fact that his positives are obvious yet he's still unpopular (for obvious reasons), which speaks to a clear ceiling. Beating trump by a slight margin should not be the bogey - any of the ppl I mentioned earlier can easily beat Trump.
