Worth noting: Unlike the Kobo Sage, the Libra 2 does NOT support Dropbox.

Didn't know that until today. That kinda sucks. The only way to get ePubs/PDFs onto a Libra 2 is via USB cable.

Not a feature I need often, so I'll be alright on my Libra 2, but it's certainly a good selling point for the Sage if you need to import documents/ePubs a lot.

@[email protected] you sounded very excited about the Kobo Libra 2. I read somewhere that the Dropbox integration is available only on the Sage. Is that true? Is that affecting your usage? thank you

@marcoarment @al3x You can also download books using the built-in web browser in the Beta section. Just put the books you want to add to your Kobo in a directory with no index.html on a private web server and set that directory to the home page for the Kobo's browser.
@gmennie @marcoarment @al3x I would also add the Calibre has a web server option, turn that on and then set that as your home page
@marcoarment it would seem it's just "hidden" on the Libra 2. I haven't tried this yet but it should work https://www.reddit.com/r/kobo/comments/se44c0/how_to_activate_official_dropbox_integration_on/

@stefanoc @marcoarment can confirm, this works perfectly on my Libra 2
@stefanoc @marcoarment I just did this and while a bit fiddly to set up (and annoying on principle) it seems to work just fine.
@marcoarment @stefanoc like Tesla Model 3 rear heated seats 😅

@marcoarment not natively, but you can root it and script it such that opening a specific .png “book” will run a script / daemon of your choice

(mine’s running Syncthing in the background and it works wonderfully- just have to remember to turn on the wifi and wait a minute or two)

@marcoarment @al3x I’ve enabled ssh on my Libra 2 and am now able to do all sorts of awesome things like install alternate reading interfaces, email ePubs directly to my device, and sync with cloud services.

Honestly the device is just so good on its own, though. I just can’t prevent myself from tinkering 😎

@marcoarment @al3x http://send.djazz.se replicates send to kindle functionality. I’ve also had good success with removing DRM from current kindle books with access to an older kindle. I’ve done quite a bit with my Libra 2 and Clara with Calibre for making them work together well if you have questions.
Send to Kobo/Kindle

@marcoarment @al3x you can also use the search function on the Libra 2 and search “devmodeon” to add a few more games and a sketch pad app. “Devmodeoff” turns it off again. https://goodereader.com/blog/kobo-ereader-news/how-to-access-the-secret-kobo-developer-options

@marcoarment I have an older kobo aura and the text display is just crisper than the kindle. I use to subscribe to kindle unlimited for sci fi books but just too costly now and the kobo is just faster as you noted.
@marcoarment Mr J Snell mentioned that in his article about them
