Taio is a neat little app. Might be my go-to for #Obsidian on the go, if only to dump things into my Inbox note.
@productnook I love #Taio as a companion to #Obsidian. It’s great for jotting down quick notes on mobile and also for accessing hidden files for things like snippets on mobile.
@andricheli Definitely! It’s a little bulky for me (I can do without the Actions) but I can see how that might be important to some. For now just sticking to iA since I had paid for it long ago.
@productnook I’d love to use iA writer but really want to try it first before paying $50. I think they plan to move to a subscription model for iOS but that hasn’t happened yet. I love how iA looks on iOS and it seems like it would work great with Obsidian.
@andricheli Oh wow is it really $50?! I bought it so long ago. I’m guessing you get it for Mac as well simultaneously which is a bit of a moot point considering you’re using Obsidian 😂
@productnook Nope, I believe the Mac is another $50, so $100 for both.

@productnook Yep, confirmed:

They said they were going to switch to a subscription model for all the apps (or offer it as option ) but not sure of the timeline for that.

@andricheli Yeah they’ve been pretty slow sometimes :/
@productnook It’s a bummer because there’s a real opportunity for these apps to capitalize on one another by being easily available and interoperable. For example, I’d LOVE to use Noteplan3 in conjunction with Obsidian, but they have this weird thing where they use the first line in the note as the title instead of the filename (like Obsidian). This means you can’t use Obsidian interchangeably with Noteplan3. Dev said awhile ago they were going to address this, but haven’t yet.
@productnook I love Obsidian, but it would be even better if I could easily use my vault interchangeably in other apps.
@andricheli I honestly think they should offer a minimal “note-first” application that “just works.” It would be a lot more convenient. Right now it’s just too clunky stand-alone even with all of the fancy things disabled.
@productnook I use Obsidian on mobile a lot and I agree. I love that the iPhone app is so fully featured but it’s definitely clunky and not ideal sometimes.
I really think some of these other apps are missing the opportunity to attract customers who might use their app on a part-time basis.
@andricheli @productnook I’ve never used NotePlan, but #Obsidian will use the file name as the title if Show inline title is on, but if it’s off you can use a separate H1 header or none at all.
