@DanielMenjivar In my old age, I'm trying to move from a "practice makes perfect" mindset to one of "practice makes progress."

All of the past week's pattern cloning has had me looking *very* closely at commercially made garments. One cannot help but notice the number of flaws and so, so many loose threads. Far more than I would even leave in a garment.

I'd wager that most of us striving for perfection in home sewing probably overshoot the mark in comparison to mass produced garments.

@elfkin @DanielMenjivar I that I’ve found myself on Sewing Mastodon, y’all have really given me the urge to try and sew something (even though I have no skills in that arena). Loving what I see being crafted.
@seismic007 @DanielMenjivar Oooh, I hope you give it a whirl! Sewing can be so highly enjoyable. The skills will come with time.
@elfkin @DanielMenjivar Every time I look at something I've made and pick out flaws, I tell myself it's still as good as what I could afford readymade at the cheaper end of the high street.
@DanielMenjivar @crinolinerobot Yup yup yup!!! Let’s be honest, one’s me-mades often rival those even at the pricier end of the high street.
@elfkin @DanielMenjivar Can certainly get nicer fabric by buying it myself.
@elfkin @DanielMenjivar this is actually a mindset I want to I still in my students as well- practice is necessary and so are mistakes, as long as you process the information and learn from it. #happysewing!
@DanielMenjivar @TAV This is solid advice for pretty much all of life.
