Street Art

@MaggieCi

Not a fan of most graffiti but love this kind.

@KFClinton Why? Are you a big fan of private property or something?

@blinky81

I lived in NYC before Ed Koch became mayor and cleaned it up.

It was beyond disgusting, you could not find an inch of the subway not covered in black illegible filth including the windows. There were little scrapes where riders removed some paint and everyone, the whole packed train car, had to peek out the little scrapes to see which station we reached.

Also my whole street was defaced constantly with the ignorant mess.

Before the locked up paint to adults...

@KFClinton @blinky81 I remember all that too! Every train was defaced and it looked awfulπŸ₯². That’s probably why I don’t like this type of street art!
@MaggieCi @grammargirl That’s tombobnyc on Instagram. I’d recognize that style anywhere! https://www.instagram.com/p/BeONdbWFUHi/

@MaggieCi Could've gone with a Total Recall theme too lol
@MaggieCi I love graffiti (aka street art) that uses the background or features it's trying to hide, as part of the art. So clever!
@MaggieCi πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ€£ I love it.
@MaggieCi Inspector Gadget fallen on hard times
@MaggieCi If only my corner of the world encouraged artistic urban improvement

@MaggieCi Looking at this, I *cannot* avoid thinking of Sesame Street...

"Hey, buddy!"
"Who, me?"
"Sshhhhh!"

@MaggieCi

Glad I wasn't drinking anything when I saw this ...

I'd have a dead keyboard by now.

@MaggieCi Brilliant. My wife is among a group of artists painting utility boxes in local towns. How much more delightful they make things!
@cjonthehudson So nice! I see you're local to me (by your pinned Kimberton sign toot that I interacted with back in March). I'd love to come across your wife's group's artistry!

@MaggieCi Oh, nice! Her finished utility box is at the intersection of Nutt and Starr in Phoenixville (Phoenix columns seen in plan).There are many others in Phoenixville. Her current project is in Pottstown, still underway, at High and Keim outside the cemetery.

She's also going to be at Studio 3 on the Chester County Studio Tour on May 20-21, in Spring City:

@cjonthehudson Such a nice project (as seen by Google Streetview). I like her mixed media pieces too!
