Watching the #Formula1 #MiamiGP highlights.

Four laps in and Verstappen sails past two cars on the start finish straight as if they're in a different formula.

Baku was boring for overtakes. This is worse. It looks like the season is just going to be dull dull dull.

At least it's only an hour of highlights. And there's #FormulaE.

@ibboard don’t think we watched the same race here. Outside of Max’s overtakes there was plenty of action in the midfield, especially tsunoda and Hamilton last stint. This race was way more entertaining than boring fest Baku. #formula1

@jmugen There were some midfield battles. And people like Russell and Hamilton making multiple overtakes. The Haas cars put up some good fights at times. But even then, a lot of the DRS made it "I'm following, I'm making a lunge, it's done".

Maybe it's just that the 90s was more varied and action packed with accidents and mechanical failures and such. Maybe it's just nostalgia.

@jmugen I don't think I remember Hamilton being near Tsunoda's Alpha Tauri. Either I'd zoned out by then or Channel 4 didn't make much of it in the highlights.

@ibboard I’m speaking of Tsunoda’s and Hamilton stints separately. They both had nice overtakes particularly towards the end. You seem to recall more action than your initial toot suggested.

Enough of the nostalgia arguments. I’ve been watching f1 for years as well. DRS has been around since turbo hybrid, did you feel the same about it then?

@jmugen I was watching the highlights on catch-up. It was literally about four laps in, Verstappen effortlessly sailed past two people and I posted. I can't remember what I hadn't seen 😉

DRS was okay when it fixed the inability to follow close enough to overtake. When it gave us take and retake. Not great, but the lesser of two evils. But now it's overtake and sail off into the distance, especially with Red Bull.

It's been getting less interesting through the Merc then RB domination.
