Almost got ourselves kicked out of Disney this evening
@hacks4pancakes There is a Google sheet floating around of all the color codes for the RFID crystals.
@alex we had a lot of fun snatching out the colors by hand tho, they’re not complicated to identify if you can scan the hex of a few
@hacks4pancakes @alex so basically mood rings for adults... angry adults.
@Cryo @alex it’s like a thing check out the prices for rare ones on Amazon and eBay but also the hacked ones on Etsy
@hacks4pancakes I can’t tell what’s going on here. Can someone please explain?
@thiagocsf @hacks4pancakes Disney did not want them to reveal "the force" were flipper zero all along.
@thiagocsf long backstory but the lightsabers you build in Hollywood studios have a chip in them that assigns color and rarity and you can hack them.
@thiagocsf they don’t particularly like this being known because on top of the $250 saber they want to sell collectible holocrons and chip kyber crystals but the encoding isn’t complex at all and there is a thriving hack market, but it just happened we all had hacking stuff in the park bar already so
@hacks4pancakes @thiagocsf clearly they need to develop cybercybercyber controls in their embedded stuff. Maybe sensors to monitor those controls and sensors to monitor those sensors just in case someone compromises them too. =D
@hacks4pancakes traveling with hacking stuff, as one does
@thiagocsf @hacks4pancakes this story is the best story. 😆
@hacks4pancakes mind blown. So cool. Thanks for explaining! 🙇🏻‍♂️
@hacks4pancakes If you can see both (1) a grinning nerd, and (2) a Flipper Zero, that’s when you know some fun shit is going down for real.
@jsr and booze and a lightsaber no less
@jsr @hacks4pancakes
"The Grinning Nerd" is going to be the name of a tavern in my next D&D game.
